About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Support Developer to work within our Customer Support Team. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing Technical assistance from your knowledge of the programming language to the Support Team
- Analysing existing code to identify possible causes of defects
- Documentation of findings
- Developing code and maintaining the Markinson product set using appropriate management systems.
- Aid in the testing of programs
- Collaborate with QA, Development Product teams to correct errors detected.
- Maintain your knowledge of specific applications, current trends and business technical requirements.
About You
You will be inquisitive and take pride in your work as you will be responsible for investigating, analysing and assisting in providing solutions raised by our valued clients. You have a drive to aid in the development, integration, maintenance, testing and updating of software products. You have a passionate understanding of technical and quality requirements and work towards continuous improvement.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology; Computer Science, Information Systems/Management or equivalent.
- 3 years commercial programming experience
- Experience within professional environments with a strong customer service orientation
- Sound understanding of programming principles, development methodologies and tool sets
- Sound understanding of database principles and database environment
- Sound understanding of Distributed Systems (n-tier) Architecture
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build, foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships
- Ability to meet the unique challenges provided by an industry in constant change
- Attention to detail at a high level
- Effective communication / presentation skills (both written and verbal)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and in a team-based environment
- Commitment to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement
