About the role

Muscat Hydraulics and Diesel Pty Ltd is a locally and family-owned business that is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter/Mechanic to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. This is a full-time position supporting our clients in Mackay and surrounding regions.  Position would involve traveling out to stations and local areas maintaining and servicing civil, agricultural and hydraulic equipment. Truck and vehicle mechanics welcome to apply.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose, repair, service and maintain diesel engines and hydraulic systems
• Carry out preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues
• Make and install hydraulic hoses
• Create and build hydraulic circuits
• Maintain records and documentation of work performed
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting or Hydraulics
• Honest and reliable applicant 
• Proven track record of successfully diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Current driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required

•  Full time field/workshop position with vehicle included. Competitive wages on a family friendly 4 on 3 off roster.  Working hours up for negotiation and wages negotiable based on experience.
