A Rare Opportunity for a Skilled Carpenter Who Aspires to be a Hands-On Builder

 

We are looking for a Lead Carpenter / Site Builder to join our team. This position is ideal for an experienced all-round carpenter—preferably with strong framing experience—who wants to grow into a builder role, gaining hands-on project leadership experience while learning the systems and processes of professional construction management.

 

About the Role

• Hands-On Leadership: Manage, lead, and train an on-site team throughout each project.

• Project Workflow:

• Work hands-on with your team from foundations to roof cover on one project.

• Upon completing roof cover, move with the team to the next project while managing finishing trades on the first project.

• Always focused on two projects: one in the structural phase and one in finishing phase.

• On-the-Tools and Management Balance: Spend six hours a day on the tools (specialising in framing, set-outs & carpentry), and two hours managing project schedules, trade coordination, supervising and training within the building software.

What We’re Looking For

• Experienced All-Round Carpenter: Skilled in various aspects of carpentry, with a preference for strong framing expertise.

• Project Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage the whole building project, working with and overseeing multiple trades (e.g., concreters, bricklayers, roofers).

• Comprehensive Building Knowledge: A strong understanding of residential building processes and trade coordination, beyond carpentry alone.

• Team Leader: Experience managing and teaching on-site teams.

• Future Builder: Currently studying or recently started a Diploma of Building and Construction.

• Organised and Detail-Oriented: Able to manage workflows, ensure quality, and maintain timelines.
