The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Plant inspector.
Job Summary:
Plant Inspector in the Plant and Equipment Department will play a critical role in project, being responsible for onboarding of plant and equipment used on the project. The candidate skills and their expertise shall ensure safe operation and reliability of plant, equipment, machineries, and tools, resulting in a strategical high plant availability during the project construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety guidelines, planning, schedules, and in accordance with NSW and Sydney Metro regulations.
2. Assist in mobilization, onboarding, installation, commissioning, testing, repair and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems and machinery.
3. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensure optimal performance and reliability of machinery by keeping accurate records of all activities.
4. Provide technical guidance and support to the team and implementing effective solutions.
5. Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering, Operations, and Safety, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall project framework.
6. Maintain relationship with subcontractors focusing in giving support, providing with proper guidelines and inputs to adhere to and in compliance with the scope of work.
7. Coordinate new plant & equipment onboarding process, including utilization of the related software.
Qualifications and Experience:
• TAFE Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or a related discipline, equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Proven experience, preferably in a railway / large-scale infrastructure project or large OEM (Construction Machinery).
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems, machinery and equipment including but not limited to earth moving, lifting, hydraulic, pneumatic, concrete, drilling, rolling stock and other plant and equipment used in construction.
• Basic knowledge of low voltage control systems of construction machinery.
• Capable of interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
• Good understanding of safety regulations and protocols in a construction and / or railway environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Able to use computer applications related to maintenance management and reporting.
