Tasks & responsibilities

Diagnose and repair vehicle issues
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle systems
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair
- Conduct vehicle inspections
- Repair or replace worn and defective parts, referring to service manuals when necessary
- Test and adjust mechanical parts to confirm proper performance following repairs
- Test driving of vehicles
- Use computer systems to diagnose and test vehicle parts effectively
- Ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness
- Keep accurate records of work performed
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
- Assist with training and mentoring junior staff members

Qualifications & experience

Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Motor Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
