About the Role We are currently seeking a NACE 2 certified Coating Inspectors for a casual assignment with our defence client in Henderson, with immediate start. The successful candidate will come from a defence or heavy industrial background, with proven experience in industrial coating inspection, along with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards. This role predominantly involves weekend work with potential scope for additional weekday work
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
Current NACE 2 / AMPP Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 2 certification
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in industrial coating inspection
Australian citizenship (mandatory for security clearance purposes)
Ability to obtain and maintain naval defence security clearances, national police clearance, and pre-employment medical assessment
Proof of Australian citizenship
Reliable personal transportation
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive paint/coating inspections on defence assets
Verify surface preparation and coating application meets specifications
Monitor environmental conditions throughout the coating process
Document inspection findings with meticulous attention to detail
Identify coating defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions
Candidate Attributes
Demonstrated experience with defence or maritime coating systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Solutions-oriented problem-solving abilities
Flexibility to work in challenging environments
This position requires adherence to strict security protocols and quality standards essential to defence operations. Due to the urgent nature of this requirement, preference will be given to candidates available for immediate start.
