We have busy steel fabrication workshops located in Welshpool and Canning Vale and have both stainless steel and mild steel capabilities. We fabricate steel parts for industry in Western Australia including defence, oil and gas, mining and construction as well as stainless steel products for schools, hospitals and entertainment venues.

The Role: Sheet Metal Tradesman

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role is responsible for fabricating stainless products to meet both customer and quality requirements. We are looking for the right person who is a skilled tradesman, can show commitment, and is willing to work additional hours if required.

What You Will be Doing

• Fabricating and welding stainless Steel Products: laboratory bowls, sinks and troughs, bespoke stainless items, mining equipment & Defence work.
• Working with stainless steel sheet with a thickness between 0.9 and 6mm. 
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Fabricating and Welding Stainless Steel structures like hoppers, chutes and bins.
• Polishing would be and added advantage

What We Need from You

• 2 - 5 years post-trade experience
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and symbols
• Diversity in the type of work completed in previous roles with demonstrated experience with sheet metal 0.9 to 6mm thick.
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to read, write and understand English well

Desirable:

• Certificates in welding or equivalent experience (Min 2 year)
• Experience in GMAW & GTAW welding - Ali, Stainless & mild steel
