The Metal Fabricator Role

The role involves fabrication and welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminium components. This includes plate and section-based work, using equipment like CNC plasma cutting, plate rolls, brake press, bandsaws, and various welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick). Projects range from one-off items to large-scale projects and breakdown work.

Key welding requirements span from general-purpose applications to coded welding for quality-critical components.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate fabricating machines, including plate rolls, bandsaws, flame cutters, and presses.
• Setup and operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and stick.
• Fabricate steel, aluminium, and stainless-steel components from engineering drawings.
• Refurbish and repair plant and equipment.
• Assist in training apprentices.

Key Requirements:

• Strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Fabrication trade qualification preferred
• Experience with mild steel MIG welding and fabrication.
• Proven experience in an industrial jobbing environment.
• Ability to deliver quality work on time.
• Pass drug and alcohol screening.
