Task & Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:

• To carry out all work to the highest possible standard.
• It is the responsibility of all Technicians to train and mentor Apprentices allocated to work with them and to report to the Service Manager any areas that an Apprentice may need additional training.
• Report on any dangerous or abnormal condition evident on a vehicle.
• To advise Service Manager of any additional work required, supported by parts prices and labour time.
• Record all work performed in the appropriate place on the repair order.
• To maximise all opportunities to obtain extra retail work, having due consideration at all times for what is in the customer's best interest.
• To attend training as requested by Three Point Services and Sales Pty Ltd.
• Keep informed of the latest product developments and service techniques for vehicles, including attending electronic fault diagnosis workshops when and as required.
• Develop the ability to work towards meeting and improving standard times.
• Work as part of a team and submit suggestions for improvement.
• Ensure that the workshop area, tools and equipment are kept clean and maintained to a high standard.
• Report any damaged work tools/equipment to the workshop foreman.
• Use seat covers, floor mats and protective materials on vehicles at all times.
• Return all special tools to the appropriate storage area after use.
• Co-operate and co-ordinate with all members of staff.
• Familiarise yourself with, understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
• Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• To ensure that you hold a current and valid driver’s licence. If you should lose your licence or have your licence suspended, you must inform the General Manager immediately.
• Professional presentation and conduct at all times.
• Proficient diagnostic equipment knowledge with in particular, Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis, Autologic and Autel scanning equipment.
• Ability to dismantle, inspect and reassemble (partially or fully) both diesel and petrol engines
• Ability to perform regular log book servicing including lubrication and maintenance services
• Possession or ability to obtain a Roadworthiness Inspectors licence
• Ability to attend vehicle breakdowns as and when required
