ABOUT THE POSITION – CNC Machinist

The successful individual shall be primarily responsible for the entire process from raw to finished product on a dedicated machine. You may also operate other CNC machines as required in a secondary capacity, so flexibility and adaptability are vital aspects of the role.

Duties Include:

• Operate and program CNC machines to manufacture parts to precise specifications,

• Set up and configure machines for new production runs,

• Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and drawings,

• Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired product specifications,

• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy standards,

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise,

• Collaborate with team members and the workshop supervisor to optimise processes and achieve production targets,

• Maintain: a clean and safe work environment; accurate production records and documentation.

ABOUT YOU - Position Requirements

Ideally, the successful candidate would be someone who:

Essential

1. Quality-focused work ethic, flexible work style and reliable work output,

2. Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in CNC machining

3. Demonstrated experience with programming, setting, and machining on both CNC vertical and horizontal lathes,

4. Must be able to work autonomously, with high levels of initiative,

5. Experience and ability to correctly read and understand engineering drawings,

6. Proficient in the use and calibration of various measuring equipment,

7. Ability to run more than one machine simultaneously,

8. Good English language skills (written & verbal).

Desirable, but not Essential

1. Machinist First Class would be highly desirable,

2. Candidates with demonstrated experience with Doosan/Okuma machines will be given preference,

3. Experience in machining to strict tolerances would be preferred,

4. Experience with creating technical drawings will be highly regarded.
