We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fleet Allocator to join our team in a thriving and rewarding environment based in Dandenong.

This pivotal role involves scheduling drivers, managing freight movement, and ensuring timely and compliant delivery across our network to ensure operational efficiency. You’ll be responsible for the effective utilisation of both company and subcontractor vehicles and resources while maintaining our high standards in safety, service, and performance.

About the Role

The successful candidate will perform duties including but not limited to: 

• Coordinate daily driver allocations, route planning, and vehicle utilisation to ensure operational efficiency and meeting customer requirements and deadlines.

• Liaise with drivers and subcontractors to ensure on-time and complete freight deliveriesy.

• Ensure compliance with NHVR, WHS, fatigue management, maintenance, mass management and dangerous goods legislation at all times.

• Provide real-time problem-solving and support for drivers on the road to ensure resolution.

• Communicate with internal stakeholders to provide timely updates on deliveries, delays, or incidents.

• Build and maintain relationships with employees and subcontractors, ensuring performance and compliance.

• Support onboarding and training of new subcontractors and drivers.

• Monitor and report on fleet utilisation, route efficiency, and subcontractor costs.

• Drive continuous improvement in fleet efficiency, customer service, and cost control.

About You: 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the transport/logistics industry.

• At least 1 year in a fleet allocation or controller role

• Have a good understanding of transport operations, ideally interstate linehaul as well as local

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• A customer-first attitude with the ability to handle pressure and multitask.

• Knowledge of transport compliance, Chain of Responsibility, WHS, and fatigue management requirements.

• Proficiency with fleet management software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

• High level of initiative, attention to detail, and time management.
