The Opportunity:

The Spray Painter reports to the Workshop Manager and is responsible for the body pre-repair and re-painting of our plant & equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare plant & equipment and vehicle components for paint repairs, including cleaning them in the wash bay
• Carry out pre-repair operations to plant & equipment and vehicle bodies, including panel beating as required
• Remove and replace/fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals
• Apply paint removal methods
• Carry out masking procedures on glass and other appropriate areas prior to application of paint with spray gun
• Prepare spray painting booth, materials and equipment (e.g. cleaning or adjusting spray gun; paint drying equipment)

Skills and Competencies:

• Certificate III in Automotive Vehicle Body: Vehicle Painting or equivalent trade and/or experience
• Strong knowledge of the standard methods and practices of automotive painting and of the materials and methods used in prepping, painting and/or refinishing
