Service Technician: Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts, or systems making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems prior to finalising the job performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups Maintain an adequate inventory of technicians hand tools to meet the service and repair requirements Identify and advise the Workshop Controller of any additional repair items found Transcribe clear accurate account of all work complete onto the repair order Keep work area clean and tidy at all times Provide “on-the-job” training to Technicians and Apprentices Ensure a safe and healthy working environment. Ensure that any risks to safety are identified, assessed and appropriate measures taken to eliminate and or control any risk to the safety of all people |
